Find some time to rest.

Find some time to rest.

Hey guys! We all need time to rest and detach from regular life. The picture above was taken this summer at my solo retreat at the Spiritual Center in Windsor NY. I spent a week there resting, meditating, napping, walking, and enjoying nature. It was a wonderful way to reset. ๐ŸŒธ

Although, not everyone can afford or find a weekโ€™s time to retreat. Yet, a nap and some time away from regular life can help us to come back into balance. We can take care of our bodies and minds in a way that connects us to inner neutrality and the observer part of our selves. Sometimes all we can offer ourselves is a mindful moment. That is sufficient. We donโ€™t have to make a big to-do about resting...we just have to remember to do it. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐ŸŒธ

There are a variety of ways in which I become aware that perhaps I need a rest: forgetting appointments, dropping things, bumping into things, irritability, less of an ability to focus where I choose, and limits on my empathy. When I become aware of any of these things, I immediately take a mindful moment. Then I assess whether I need more rest, sleep, or meditation. ๐ŸŒธ

What things signal to you that you need a break? If your willing, share below. ๐ŸŒธ

May we all be aware of our need for rest and balance. May we all find this balance for ourselves. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒธ
