Goood morning! I love using analogies to describe mindfulness. The statement above helps me to understand that there is a part of me that can ALLOW all the storms and chaos. There is no need to resist (canโ€™t stop it anyway). I canโ€™t be touched in my deepest part. Connecting with that observer part of myself is one byproduct of mindfulness and meditation. I will even use this analogy as a visualization to help me โ€œsinkโ€ into my body as I begin to follow my breathing.๐ŸŒธ ๐ŸŒธ Some people find the sounds of the ocean lapping at the shore to be very peaceful. When I teach mindfulness to beginners, I will often use sounds (my preferred sense) such as the ocean, birds, or a Forrest to assist in focusing. Certain sounds (vibration) are more relaxing and peaceful than others. There are many apps that help with mindfulness. For now, I will recommend the insighttimer and calm apps. Calm has many sounds to choose from. Insighttimer has loads of guided meditations that are all different lengths. By that I mean, you can choose a 1 minute or 45+ mins. I invite you to give them a try. (Not paid advertisements, just personal recommendations) ๐ŸŒธ ๐ŸŒธ May we all be like the bottom of the ocean allowing the storms to pass over us. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป Let me know below if you use any mindfulness apps, and which ones you prefer. This way we can all learn. ๐Ÿ’•
